Another day, another way

In days gone past
Bound by allegiance way
When the dice were being cast
It took me to the battle array

How I saw people killed
Who fought for their own sake
My cup got never filled
When lives were at stake

A thought came to pass with me
There must be another way, another day
For all to be finally free
And a peaceful mind to stay

I left my bow and sword
To lead a life on higher ground
Through a song, through a word
Cast some happiness around

This is where I stand
