The Emperess of Nizhnevartovsk

The Emperess of Nizhnevartovsk

Has a desire in her eyes

While she is travelling

Across the cold

And the loneliness

Of the Russian tundra

She has a desire

To see again

The reason

She is in a dream

And lost

Her heart

To the Prince of Novgorod

We were close
Very close
When we were seventeen
While you had
That long blond hair
And a bike
That I had to change
For another
Because your legs
Were too long

I had to grow up
To the fact
You lost your parents
When you were twelve

And we were close
Even when you were sitting
At the other end
Of the college room

We were close
Very close
And we were happy

I just met you
Somehow somewhere
And the sparkle of a memory
Told me there was something
More to you
Then my eyes were seeing

We were just friends
My heart said yes
But my mind said don't

Would we ever tell
Each other

Would I ever tell
That I liked you
Without starting
A passionate romance

We are friends

You are
A friend
And because of you
I am a friend of you too

The taste of speed

I want to forget about my body
I want to forget about my life
Speed is my addiction
Speed is my biggest strife

Get that motor running
Get it into the highest gear
Push the throttle deepest
Push away that fear

See the surroundings fading
See the surroundings die
Slowly things are getting lighter
Slowly I move up into the sky

I have my prediction clearly
I have my prediction there
Still twenty rounds to go for
Still twenty rounds without care

The smell of speed I'm tasting
The smell of endless space
I am coming down the line again
I am coming down with pace

The Female Warrior

The historian would  like you
To believe
All battles were fought by men
While in magic periods
In the past
Decisive victories were won
By female warriors

It does not necessarily take
Political fights
To make the world to see
The power
That is in a woman to be
As fact
Just like it can be found
In a man

If she knows clearly well
Her goals
And is willing to show them
To the world
As a warrior she all by herself
Can defeat
An army of men or women

It takes strength on the part
Of a man
To be willing to face the fact
Not easy at times
That a woman can be as strong
In life
And fight for her aims
Big or small

It is the warrior inside
Of her
That makes the beauty
That she is
Come out and for the world
To see
And makes her undeniably so

With a man together as they are
Who can listen
And who allows her the space
In which to create
The female warrior can take part
Not in mortal battles
Necessary as in the past but the current
Battle of the human mind
And freedom

No words

My dear friend
I have no words
But you have my poetry

How to play "piano"

She said
Be "piano" with me

Or "pianissimo" if you like
You can be "fortissimo" in the stadium
Or one of the rock concerts with your friends
You can be "forte" when we are dancing
Or "pianissimo" if you like
Be "piano" with me
She said

The Concerto Pianiste

Playing those keys
With virtuosity
Completely effortless
Once the first note
Sounds around

It is like
Giving the mind and soul
Of Beethoven
Into the hands
Of the audience

Andante, play it slowly
Allegro, render it quickly
Fortissimo, loudly
And Andante again
Into the piano

You listen and hear
People listening
You hear
People listening
To what you hear

And listening
To what you create.

The Chinese Wall

The Emperor's daughter
Takes a bath
In the small river

While I ride my horse
The Chinese Wall

The double edged sword
Hardened in twenty fires
Awaits no use
Peace by presence alone

While I ride my horse
The Chinese Wall

Sun is out shining
Tree is in blossom
Children playing
Up on the hill

While I ride my horse
The Emperor's princess
On the Chinese Wall

Keeping the fire going

When spirit is high
When victory
Is with us
When hunting was abundant
When harvest is a blessing
From the sky
And the skin we wear
Is adorned with
Beautiful colours
We know
You are keeping the fire going

( Although the setting of this poem is the Native American culture, it is dedicated to the woman in this world)

In love

Everything you say or do
Just makes the fire
Go higher

Emma Peel

Counterpart of John Steed
British elegance and style

Driving your Lotus Elan
Across the country roads of Kent

Beyond charming
When you were smiling
And lethal in action
When someone tried to stop you

You definitely took part
In defining the glorious days
Of England
In the '60's

Ma petite femme

How we defeated all the rules
The secret writings
That are written in the stars
This was an impossible combination
You and me
So how come
We are still together
After 31 years

Is it because
You are
Ma petite femme

A slack observer
Gets easily fooled
On your size
The size of you

That's why
I make you happy
When I call you
Ma petite femme

Rocket Woman

I knew
One day
I would meet you
Rocket Woman

Ready to fly
In a black leather suit

Like Emma Peel

Mrs. Barbara Schneider's horse

You were riding Capriccio
You were riding
A horse that was
Fast, intense, and virtuosic
A horse that was
Music in your ears

Quite likely
It will go on living
As Victorio
For being victorious
In that it will be
Riding to victory

This is truly
A horse of noble character
Noble in a way
That fitted the rider
It is now on its way
To another victory

The most courageous
Of courageous
Is the one
While something dear
Slips out of hand
And moves away
Still keeps on looking
(While tears flow)

While we stand
Across each other
The closest I can come
To you
Is to join with you
In laughter

Don't mind any thought
Just laugh a little
Have that ride of joy
While we launch each other
Into a flight of laughter

So while we sit
Across each other
It makes me roll
Across the bench
While you join me
In laughter

Like a balloon
Just let go
Into the air
We just laugh
Into an infinite

Sonata de future

In those battles to come
When life has taken on
Another form, another view
After the circle of life
Was ended at the point
Where another cycle was begun
I walk on with memories
As the only way by which I know
What path I have been trailing
It's then when
My road through life
Leads me to a warrior
And when we meet
She disarms herself and shows
The nudity of her soul
Her strength which is humbleness
Her beauty which is from within
The elegance of her motions
And the power in her eyes
And she sings a song for me
To lay my mind at rest
She fights a battle when I plan
For the next step to take
And she takes my rose
In knowing that
All is understood.

Monet's garden

Floating waterlily
Floating waterlilies
In a mirror of water
A blue mirror of water

It's time
It's time for a cigarette

The sun shines
The sun shines on the canvass

One day
I will paint those fish too
Swimming there in the water
Of the pond of the garden in Giverny
The garden in Giverny where the dog runs around

You came to me
From afar
In a whirlwind of motion

When you spoke
You said
Be free

No one is free
When caged
And then agreed
She said

In her dance
From the stars

Star Chaser

I know what you do
Being a star chaser
Going out at night
Watching the skies

Watching those skies

How deep can you look

Trying to end up
At the other end of the universe

Suddenly it feels
Like somebody is rocking
The planet you're on
It's also up in the air

I have done this

Since I was a kid
Small you were
And the sky so awfully big

There is a world
Beyond the stars
I have heard about it
And it is just next door

I was born
A star chaser
I am the boy
Next door

The Duchess of Galicia

(For Conchi Herves)

I had the Honour
To meet
The Duchess of Galicia
She gave me a Glance
In passing

She still has Youth
In her Eyes
While playing with Children
In a Meadow field
On a warm sunny Day

She rules her Country
From afar
And writes Love letters
To a Prince
In a distant Land

Her Smile
Is hard to Withstand
When you had the Honour
To meet
The Duchess of Galicia

She lives among the People
Shops at the Grocery store
Her House is filled
With Roses
Lillies and Expectation

And on a free Saturday afternoon
She drives her Ferrari Evoluzione
Over the circuit
For a race
Just for fun

The Duchess of Galicia
Lives her own Life
Dreams of a Journey
To the Land
Of her Dreams

Lady Mysterious

Lady Mysterious
With Maria Callas' eyes
Is waiting in the station hall

Are you going to sing on a stage
Or travel to a far away land
Or did you meet the love of your life
Last week

Lady Mysterious
With Maria Callas' eyes
Is looking at me

Lady Mysterious
Do you dream of raising five children
Or drive an open sportscar
Across Cornwall roads

Lady Mysterious
With Maria Callas' eyes
Wants to be somewhere else

Lady Mysterious
I see you again
One more time
With those Maria Callas' eyes
